Be Pro, Be Proud Initiative Created to Train the Workforce of the Future

In 2016, the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce created the “Be Pro, Be Proud” initiative to address what has been known as a “skills gap” between Arkansas’ workforce, and the needs of employers. With the large amount of high profile infrastructure and economic development projects throughout the state, there is presently a critical shortage of skilled labor available in many trades.

ACEF Partners With Little Rock Workforce Development Board and Our House to Provide a Fresh Start for the Recently Incarcerated

The U.S. Department of Labor recently awarded a $1.2 million grant to The Little Rock Workforce Development Board to develop The Rock City Reentry Project. The purpose of the grant is to provide training and support services to recently incarcerated individuals as they transition back into society. The project will be a collaborative effort between The Little Rock Workforce Development Board, and Our House, with ACEF, Medlife, and Pulaski Technical College operating as secondary partners to provide training opportunities and help with job placement.
