A career as an electrician is practically recession-proof, and ACEF can connect you with Arkansas’ top employers!

Whether you’re entering the job market for the first time, or switching careers, it’s important to focus on the long-term stability of your chosen profession. Many high-tech and retail companies are particularly vulnerable to economic conditions, and even long-term employees aren’t safe from layoffs. On the other hand, there are many great opportunities for professionals entering the skilled trades, with tens of thousands of unfilled jobs currently available for people with the right training and qualifications.

The Arkansas Construction Education Foundation was created in 1994 to meet the constant demand for skilled tradespeople. We offer apprenticeship programs in Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, HVAC, Electronic Systems Technology, Building Maintenance, and Industrial Maintenance. All of our programs are certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, recognized by the Arkansas Department of Career Education, and accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research. We’re always looking for motivated self-starters who enjoy working with their both their hands and their heads, and we give them the tools that they need to be prepared for a rewarding new career!

Our Apprentice Electrician program is a four-year program that includes 640 hours of classroom instruction at your choice of electrical Training center, and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training in the field, and will satisfy the licensure requirements of the Arkansas Department of Labor, Board of Electrical Examiners. Once you complete your Electrical Apprenticeship, you will be granted a “release to test,” and can submit an application to sit for the journeyman electrician’s exam.

One of the greatest benefits of our programs is hands-on experience in the field with Arkansas’ top companies. We offer job placement services to our graduates, but many of them find jobs with the companies where they completed their training. Companies love hiring our graduates, because they know that they’re committed to professionalism, well-trained in safety standards, and, most importantly, ready to hit the ground running on day one!
