There are a shocking number of opportunities for new electricians, and we can help you learn the trade!

Even though technology continues progressing beyond what we ever imagined would be possible, the basic skills needed for the electrical trade haven’t changed that much. All of the computers and new high tech devices still need to be safely and reliably powered, and those tasks still require well-trained human technicians to keep them running.

The Arkansas Construction Education Foundation was created in 1994 to provide top-quality training to meet the demand for contractors and craft professionals in Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, HVAC, Building Maintenance, and Industrial Maintenance. We provide a number of Electrical Training opportunities throughout Arkansas, and our Electrical Programs are a great fit for hardworking, career-minded individuals who enjoy working with their both their hands and their heads.

If you’re interested in an Electrical Apprenticeship, we offer a rigorous training program that will help you meet the licensure requirements of the Arkansas Department of Labor, Board of Electrical Examiners. Our four-year program includes 640 hours of classroom instruction at your choice of Electrical Training center, and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training in the field. Once you complete the program, you will be granted a “release to test,” and can submit your application to sit for the journeyman electrician’s exam.

All of our training and apprenticeship programs are fully certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, recognized by the Arkansas Department of Career Education, and accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). The NCCER curriculum contains both knowledge-based exams and a “hands-on” performance evaluation. We realize that many of our participants may not have always responded well to traditional classroom instruction, but the NCCER approach sets up all participants for success by providing them the opportunity to apply everything that they have learned in both the classroom setting and from their onsite training.

Most importantly, you’ll be training in the field alongside Arkansas’ most talented and experienced career professionals, who will teach you the ins and outs of the job, as well as the industry-mandated safety standards. At ACEF, we take pride in the response that we get from the companies that employ our graduates, and they consistently thank us for sending them employees that know the job from day one!
