Carpentry is a very rewarding career, and our team at ACEF is here to help you get started!
There are many people in Arkansas that are content to sit at a desk in an office all day, but if you’re someone that prefers to work with your hands, you’re not alone! In fact, since the way that we do business is constantly changing, there are many people who are a bit more old-fashioned, and prefer the stability of the skilled trades.
If this sounds like you, then a new career as an apprentice carpenter could be a perfect fit! And when you’re looking for the right carpentry apprenticeship, our team at The Arkansas Construction Education Foundation is waiting to hear from you! We were established in 1994 to help satisfy the increasing demand for skilled contractors, and we offer training programs in Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, HVAC, Electronic Systems Technology, Building Maintenance, and Industrial Maintenance. Our two-year and four-year apprenticeship programs are certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, and accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). All of our training programs are based on the NCCER curriculum, which offers a combination of rigorous classroom instruction, and experience in the field. You will learn carpentry from Arkansas’ most experienced professionals in an authentic, practical setting.
The Carpentry Program is a 2-to-4-year competency-based program that includes all aspects of carpentry, from cabinet fabrication to advanced roof systems. Additionally, all of our training programs place a heavy emphasis on workplace safety, and the development of a quality work ethic. Employers love to hire our graduates, because they are consistently well-prepared from day one on the job, and many of our program participants have a job offer in hand by the time that they complete their program.
We offer training at numerous locations throughout Arkansas, which means that you can learn your craft in your own community, and won’t have to deal with the time and expense of traveling. Most importantly, our programs are competency-based, and you will always be set up for success. You will be tested on what you know, and not what you can memorize, and our instructors and curriculum are designed for hands-on learners!
