With an electrical apprenticeship from ACEF, you’ll never have to travel far to complete your studies!
Whether you’re starting a brand new career, or making a career change, the transition can be challenging. You’re doing something that you’ve never done before, and that’s difficult for everyone. At The Arkansas Construction Education Foundation, we understand that our program participants are people that love to work with both their hands and their head, and know that the best way to set them up for success is to let them complete their training in their own communities. That’s why we operate multiple training centers throughout Arkansas to provide quality vocational training in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Building Maintenance, and Industrial Maintenance.
As far as new careers go, becoming an Apprentice Electrician is a very good choice. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (bls.gov), the 2018 median salary for electricians was $55,190 per year, with thousands of unfilled jobs throughout the country.
ACEF offers a rigorous Electrician Apprenticeship program that will prepare you to meet the licensure requirements of the Arkansas Department of Labor, Board of Electrical Examiners. It’s a four-year program includes 640 hours of classroom instruction at your choice of Electrical Training center, and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training in the field. Once you complete the program, you will be granted a “release to test,” and can submit your application to sit for the journeyman electrician’s exam.
All of your training and field experience will be led by Arkansas’ most experienced professionals, and is designed for success. We know that many of our participants are unconventional learners, which is why we emphasize authentic “hands-on” evaluation. All of our programs are fully certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, recognized by the Arkansas Department of Career Education, and accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).
Once you’ve completed your program, we will also help you with job placement services. Many of our participants have a job already waiting for them at the companies where they apprenticed, and companies love to hire our graduates.
