ACEF's Environmental Workforce
Job Training Program
In September 2014, the Arkansas Construction Education Foundation (ACEF) held its last round of EPA training classes under the grant it was awarded back in 2012. One of the participants was Nathan Spangler. Mr. Spangler lost his job in the earlier part of 2014 and struggled to find gainful employment. Here's a snippet from sync weekly
where he was featured and talked about his story.
"About two months ago, Spangler, 37, landed a job clearing asbestos from old buildings. He got the job after completing Careerlink classes at The Church at Rock Creek, where he learned resume writing and interviewing skills. He also participated in the Arkansas Construction Education Foundation’s Environmental Workforce Job Training Program, where he obtained 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard, Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10-Hour Safety and other credentials." - sync weekly
