Arkansas keeps growing, and the future is bright for skilled construction workers!

With so much discussion of high-tech careers taking place these days, many people might not realize that the demand for skilled labor is currently at an all-time high. In fact, new opportunities in the construction industry are continuing to rise, as well as the median income for construction careers. And the good news is that a construction apprenticeship can be completed in 2-4 years!

In 1994, The Arkansas Construction Education Foundation was created to address shortfalls in Arkansas’ labor force. We offer building construction training, as well as apprenticeships in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and sprinkler fitting. Each program that we offer is set up for success, and involves a combination of rigorous classroom instruction, and paid work in the field. Our apprenticeship courses are certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, recognized by the Arkansas Department of Career Education, and accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). And the good news is that we offer our training programs at multiple sites throughout Arkansas, so you won’t have to travel far to complete your training.

We’re particularly interested in finding career-driven self-starters that enjoy working with their hands and their heads, and connecting them with great mentors. We also understand that our participants prefer hands-on instruction, and to be tested on what they know in an authentic setting. There’s nothing wrong with a college education, but it’s not always the best fit for non-traditional learners. We’ll work with you to determine the vocational training program that’s the best fit for your needs, and will help you every step of the way.

Once you’ve completed your construction job training, we’ll also help you with job placement services. Companies love hiring our graduates because they have a great work ethic, they understand safety and professionalism on the job site, and are ready on day one. In fact, many of our participants have job offers in hand with the companies where they trained, and begin working immediately after they complete their studies.
