Bring Your Game

  • 8-hour course: This class introduces participants to the A Game work ethic principles (Attitude, Attendance, Appearance, Ambition, Accountability, Acceptance, and Appreciation). Instruction only.
  • 12-hour course: This class introduces participants to the A Game work ethic principles (Attitude, Attendance, Appearance, Ambition, Accountability, Acceptance, and Appreciation). Participants utilize course book with activities to better understand work ethic curriculum. This course includes course review and certification exam.
  • 16-hour course: This class introduces participants to the A Game work ethic principles (Attitude, Attendance, Appearance, Ambition, Accountability, Acceptance, and Appreciation). Participants utilize course book with activities to better understand work ethic curriculum. This course includes course review and certification exam.
  • 24-hour course: This class introduces participants to the A Game work ethic principles (Attitude, Attendance, Appearance, Ambition, Accountability, Acceptance, and Appreciation). Participants utilize course book with activities to better understand work ethic curriculum. Students will interact in team building exercises and interview skills assessment. This course includes course review and certification exam.

Tools of the Trades

  • 16-hour course with lab: Introduces trainees to hand tools that are widely used in the construction industry, such as hammers, saws, levels, pullers, and clamps. Explains the specific applications of each tool and shows how to use them properly. Also discusses important safety and maintenance issues related to hand tools. Class also provides detailed descriptions of commonly used power tools, such as drills, saws, grinders, and sanders. Review applications of these tools, proper use, safety, and maintenance. Many illustrations show power tools used in on-the-job settings. Lab will include hands-on instruction using both hand tools and power tools to let participant become familiar with proper use and safety of utilization of tool. Participants will be given real-world task to complete using both hand tools and power tools to complete task.

Focus Four Safety Awareness

This class explains the safety obligations of workers, supervisors, and managers to ensure a safe workplace. Discusses the causes and results of accidents and the impact of accident cost. Reviews the role of company policies and OSHA regulations. Introduces common job-site hazards and identifies proper protections. Defines safe work procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment, and how to safely work in an industrial setting. Identifies other potential construction hazards, including, falls, caught-in-or-between, being struck-by, hazardous material exposures, and electrocution.

Rigging

Provides basic information related to rigging and rigging hardware, such as slings, rigging hitches, and hoists. Emphasizes safe working habits in the vicinity of rigging operations and load weight and other areas critical to understanding and operating a safe job site. This course is recommended for all employees who are working within the fall zone of a load and especially if they are involved in the hooking and unhooking of the load or in the guiding of a load.

Construction Drawings

Familiarizes trainees with basic terms for construction drawings, components, and symbols. Explains the different types of drawings (civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing/piping, electrical, and fire protection) and instructs trainees on how to interpret and use drawing dimensions. Students will utilize sets of drawings to become familiar with how different types of drawings differ and work in unison for the completion of projects. Course will explain how to use and read various length measurement tools.

Material Handling

Recognizes hazards associated with material handling and explains proper techniques and procedures. Introduces material handling equipment, and identifies appropriate equipment for common job-site tasks. Participants will gain knowledge and skills in both traditional classroom and in hands-on performance projects and will be able to identify various hazards when performing these tasks while utilizing these skills.
