HVAC Apprenticeship Overview

Learn the design, installation, and maintenance of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems

Enroll as an apprentice (employer required) or as a craft professional (no employer required)

Earn certification upon successful completion
- Hours: 432 hours RTI
Dates: Fall semester starts the first week of August. Spring semester starts the first week of January. - Length of course: Two – three years of classes, one night a week for four hours (5:00-9:00)
This two-year program emphasizes hands-on, competency-based training in all aspects of HVAC systems. Graduates gain the skills needed to install, maintain, and troubleshoot residential, commercial, and industrial heating and cooling systems.

Hvac System Installation & Repair
Learn to install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems. Gain the practical skills needed to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.
Airflow, Ventilation, & Ductwork
Understand airflow dynamics, ventilation systems, and proper ductwork installation. Hands-on labs teach proper techniques for a safe, efficient system.
Electrical Systems & Controls
Explore electrical wiring, controls, and system integration. Learn troubleshooting strategies for a wide variety of HVAC equipment.
Refrigeration Principles & Safety
Study refrigeration cycles, refrigerants, and safety procedures. Develop skills to maintain and repair systems while following industry standards.
