Plumbing Apprenticeship Overview
- Attend class one night a week at ACEF
- Work full time with a plumbing company
- Earn while gaining hands-on experience
- Hours: RTI: 672 (168 a year) – On the Job Training (OJT): 8,000 Hours
- Dates: Fall semester starts the first week of August. Spring semester starts the first week of January.
- Length of course: Four years of classes – one night a week for four hours (5:00-9:00)
This four-year program includes 640 hours of classroom instruction and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training. Plumbers install, maintain, and repair water, waste, and gas systems to keep facilities running smoothly. After completing the program, apprentices receive a “release to test” and can apply to take the journeyman plumber’s exam through the Arkansas Department of Health.
